Families4Families Benefiet voor Gaza #2

We zijn terug! Families 4 Families organiseert een fundraiser om weer geld in te zamelen ten behoeven van de geboortezorg in Gaza. We hebben contact met Incubator of Life, een initiatief door vroedvrouwen uit Deir El Balah in de Gazastrook en ook hopen we weer Dr. Lubna Alazaiza te kunnen steunen met de inkomsten. Onze hulp is nog steeds heel erg hard nodig. De Rotterdamse community nodigt je van harte uit aan deze middag deel te nemen. Er is heerlijk eten, live muziek, er zijn kindvriendelijke workshops, uiteraard een loterij én een veiling met prijzen uit de community.

• Knutselen, Tekenen, Schminken & een fantastische Foto Teken Toko waar je je enkele minuten je portret kan laten tekenen door Kazuma, Nino Maissouradze, Miji, Ambigou of Johan Kleinjan.

The Geography of Memory: A Darwish Reading and Translation Workshop

Deze workshop, georganiseerd door filmmaker Tess Martin en componist Josué Amador als onderdeel van een animatiefilmproject, nodigt deelnemers uit om gezamenlijk de eerste pagina van het boek 'Memory for Forgetfulness' van de Palestijnse auteur Mahmoud Darwish te lezen, te bespreken en te vertalen. De workshop heeft als doel een discussie te stimuleren over thema's als geheugen, ballingschap en idee van thuis, waarbij Darwish' tekst als uitgangspunt dient. Aan het einde van de sessie zullen de deelnemers een gezamenlijke, meertalige versie van de tekst maken en uitvoeren, die als audiomateriaal voor het filmproject zal worden opgenomen.

We are back! Families 4 Families is organising a fundraiser to raise money for maternity care and obstetrics care in Gaza. We are in contact with Incubator of Life, an initiative by midwives in Deir El Balah in the Gazastrip, and again want to support Dr. Lubna Alazaiza with some much needed funds. Our help is still very much needed. Join our Rotterdam community for delicious food, live music, kid friendly workshops and partake in the raffle and auction.

The Geography of Memory: A Darwish Reading and Translation Workshop

Organized by filmmaker Tess Martin and composer Josué Amador as part of an animated film project, this workshop invites participants to collectively read, discuss, and translate the first page from Palestinian author Mahmoud Darwish's book, Memory for Forgetfulness. The workshop aims to foster a discussion on themes of memory, exile, and home, using Darwish's text as a foundational lens. At the end of the session, participants will create and perform a collective, multi-lingual version of the text, which will be recorded as audio material for the film project.
